Hallway, Bathroom and Master Bedroom Main Floor:
On the main floor we changed the master bedroom into an awesome new kitchen. The door to the bedroom was sealed and an opening was created on the side of the dining room. We reused most of the moulding from when we removed the door and a cabinet. Now the kitchen was part of the house with the same matching moulding. The old 4 foot by 4 foot kitchen was upgraded to a pantry and was connected to the new kitchen with a swinging pantry door that opens both ways. This bathroom also needed major renovations. Everything except for the tub was removed. The tub was reglazed because we could not take it out since the dimension was no longer available. We had to fix the floor and the wall near and above the tub, due to water damage. Then we were able to install a new wall around the tub. We also lowered the ceiling by 10 inches. This was done to make room for the fan and to eliminate adding a small piece at the top of the new wall. We then installed a new floor. The next step was to install the vanity, medicine cabinet and toilet. We also installed a new frosted window, which eliminated the need for a curtain but allowed the sunlight to stream in from the east. In the hallway we sanded down the floor and used a semi gloss varnish. We removed the old door from the porch and installed a new door with a large window.
