Living room, Dining room, Kitchen & Sunroom Main Floor:
This was another enormous challenge. The living room windows were extended 18 inches from the house many years ago. Over the years it sagged about 2 inches in a 12 inch span. So we had to remove the wall and bring it back to its original position. It made the living room smaller by 12 inches but now the wall was in the proper place and cosmetically it looked much better. We also had to put a post at one corner to hold the roof in front of the living room. The existing windows were put back in their original position in the extended part of the front of the house. We put up the drywall, primed and painted all the walls. We also fixed the oak pocket doors. The old room at the back of the house which was used as a kitchen was transformed into a sunroom and the old window was replaced with patio doors. Since the old kitchen door was sealed we installed some shelving in that corner.
